1.) Have you ever left the doctors office or a hospital with more questions than when you entered?

2.) Did you ever wish you had a kid, relative or friend who was a doctor?

3.) Did you ever feel like your healthcare provider is not explaining everything?

Well, you are not alone. With many years of caring for patients, I’ve noticed their confusion and frustration with the healthcare system has been increasing. We will be by your side throughout the process. We are your personal patient advocates to guide you through today’s complicated healthcare system. Imagine having a seasoned physician as the intermediary between you and your doctor. We will answer your questions and concerns, assist in communication with your healthcare team, and explain the entire process to you from start to finish.

I’ve been in practice for over 35 years at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and I am board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and was an Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA School of Medicine. I was a trustee on the board of Chicago Medical School and presently a trustee on the Foundation Board of The American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. I have lectured extensively and know how to navigate the healthcare system.

Through my years of being a physician, family and friends have always called me for medical advice. They were quite comforted knowing they had a relative and/or a friend whom was a doctor. I’ve had personal experiences with my mother and father where care was suboptimal and communication was lacking. I truly believe without me their outcomes would have been different.

With the changes in the healthcare system, there is no longer continuity of care. Patients are more frustrated and have more difficulty communicating with their doctors leaving many questions unanswered.

Because of this, I was inspired and motivated to create My Doctor Advocate.

Why Advocacy Matters

Patients under our advocacy have less anxiety, more compliance and often have better outcomes.

Better Outcomes

Studies have shown that patient advocates can significantly improve health outcomes by facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that patients understand their treatment options.

Empowerment and Education

Patient advocacy empowers individuals by providing them with the necessary information to make informed decisions about their healthcare. This empowerment can lead to better engagement and adherence to treatment plans.

Ethical Responsibility

Healthcare professionals have an ethical obligation to advocate for their patients. The American Nurses Association and the American Medical Association emphasize the importance of advocating for patients’ best interests.

Access to Care

Advocates play a vital role in helping patients navigate complex healthcare systems ensuring they access the care they need without unnecessary barriers.

Quality of Care

Research indicates that patient advocacy is linked to higher quality of care. When patients feel supported, they are more likely to express their concerns and preferences, leading to tailored and effective treatment plans.
